276 COG12. Memory can be installed using one of two methodologies: Performance installation or cost-effectiveinstallation. Performance installation populates one pair of DIMMs per memory card, until four cards areinstalled, before adding a second pair of DIMMs to a card. Cost-effective installation fully populates eachmemory card before adding additional cards.13. Single core Datacenter solutions containing more than 16 processors require one ScalabilityEnablement/Memory Adapter (P/N 41Y5004) per chassis. x3950 E dual core Datacenter solutionscontaining 16 processors and greater require one Scalability Enablement/Memory Adapter (P/N41Y5004) per chassis. Proof of the appropriate U.S. Government Export License must exist before thisoption can be ordered or shipped to Tier 3 countries. In addition to providing scalability support, thisadapter supports four memory DIMMs and can be used in place of one of the standard, four-slotmemory adapters.14. This option kit includes the components necessary to upgrade systems that currently have single-coreIntel Xeon MP processors installed to support the dual-core Intel Xeon MP processors. Processors are notincluded in the kit and must be purchased separately. Once the system is upgraded, the new systemmodel type must be registered with IBM. Directions for registering the new system model type areincluded in the option.15. A maximum of two ServeRAID 8i controllers is allowed per Datacenter node (each instance of theoperating system).
