52.2.2 Downflow InstallationWhen the furnace is installed in the downflow position on acombustible floor, the clearances from combustibles mustbe adhered to. The downflow base DFB-103 orKLASB0901DET can be used to ensure these clearances.Refer to Figure 3 and the installation instructions providedwith the base. The burner must always be installed in the same manner, regardless of the discharge position of the furnace. Referto Figure 3 for additional details.Figure 32.2.3 Horizontal InstallationWhen the furnace is installed in the horizontal position, either suspended or on a combustible floor with a choice ofright or left discharge, the clearances from combustiblematerial must be adhered to. If the unit is installed on acombustible floor, the horizontal floor base HFB-101 orKLASB0701DET can be used to ensure these clearances.Refer to the instructions supplied with the base. The burner must always be installed in the same manner, regardless of the discharge position of the furnace. Referto Figure 4 for additional details.Figure 42.3 ELECTRICAL SYSTEMCAUTIONThe exterior of the unit must have an uninterruptedground to minimize the risk of bodily harm, if ever anelectrical problem develops. A green ground screw issupplied with the control box for that purpose. The appliance must be installed in accordance with thecurrent ANSI/NFPA 70 National Electrical Code, CSAC22.1 Canadian Electrical Code Part 1 and/or localcodes. The control system depends on the correct polarity ofthe power supply. Connect “HOT” wire (H) and“NEUTRAL” wire (N) as shown in Figures 6 and 7, p. 18and 19.A separate line voltage supply should be used, withfused disconnect switch or circuit breaker, between themain power panel and the unit.Only copper wire may be used for the 115V circuit onthis unit. If wires need to be changed, the replacementsmust have the same temperature resistance as theoriginals.2.4 INSTALLATION OF THETHERMOSTATA thermostat must be installed to control thetemperature of the area to be heated. Follow theinstructions supplied with the thermostat. Also refer tothe wiring diagrams provided with the heating/airconditioning unit. The connections must be made asindicated on the following diagrams and the wiringdiagrams, p. 18 and 19.Thermostat WiringHeating and Air Conditioningwith 4-speed motorFilter 20 x 24Downflow base isrequired forcombustible floorBurner positionDNS-1227AHorizontal floor base requiredfor combustible floorBurner positionFilter 20 x 24DNS-1227A445 01 4101 00
