PPC-51xxA-H61 Panel PCPage 233.1 Anti-static PrecautionsWARNING:Failure to take ESD precautions during the maintenance of the EPseries may result in permanent damage to the EP series and severeinjury to the user.Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause serious damage to electronic components, including the PPC-51xxA-H61. Dry climates are especially susceptible to ESD. It istherefore critical that whenever the PPC-51xxA-H61 is accessed internally, or any otherelectrical component is handled, the following anti-static precautions are strictly adheredto. Wear an anti-static wristband: - Wearing a simple anti-static wristband canhelp to prevent ESD from damaging the board. Self-grounding: - Before handling the board touch any grounded conductingmaterial. During the time the board is handled, frequently touch anyconducting materials that are connected to the ground. Use an anti-static pad: - When configuring the PPC-51xxA-H61, place it onan antic-static pad. This reduces the possibility of ESD damaging thePPC-51xxA-H61. Only handle the edges of the PCB: - When handling the PCB, hold the PCBby the edges.3.2 Installation PrecautionsWhen installing the panel PC, please follow the precautions listed below: Power turned off: When installing the panel PC, make sure the power is off.Failing to turn off the power may cause severe injury to the body and/ordamage to the system. Certified Engineers: Only certified engineers should install and modifyonboard functionalities.
