5The gas cylinder must not be stored nextto this or any other appliance.Always follow care and maintenanceinstructions – regularly maintain your sideburner.Do not allow grease, fat or food residue tobuild up in or on the side burner – RISK OFFIRE.Always replace worn parts – do not use theside burner if a leak, wear or damage isfound.Do not store or cover the side burner untilfully cooled.Keep the ventilation opening of the cylinderenclosure free and clear from debris.Keep the area around your gas side burnerclear of any combustible materials, petrolor other flammable liquids and vapours.Pressure regulator and hose assemblysupplied with this barbecue/side burnermust be used.Replacement pressure regulators and hoseassemblies must be the same as thosesupplied originally with the side burner.Never use an adjustable regulator with thisside burner.Do not hang any combustible materialsfrom the hand rails of this barbecue.Accessible parts may be very hot. Keepyoung children away.Always wear protective gloves or abarbecue mitt when handling hotcomponents or items such as pots.LEAK TESTSIMPORTANT – PERFORM LEAK TESTS BEFOREUSEAlways leak test the unit – annually, whendismantled, when parts are replaced, or if thegas cylinder is removed or replaced.• Never use an open flame to check for leaksat anytime. DO NOT IGNITE THE SIDEBURNER DURING LEAK TESTING.• To be performed in a well-ventilated area.• Be sure all control knobs are in the ‘OFF’position.• Check for leaks by brushing a solution of 1/2water and 1/2 soap over all the gas systemjoints, including all valve connections, hoseconnections and regulator connections.• Ensure the soap solution has been appliedto all connections – connect the regulator tothe gas cylinder, open the gas control valveon the regulator allowing gas to flow.• OBSERVE – if bubbles form over any part ofthe joints there is a leak.• Turn off the gas and tighten all joints• Repeat test. If bubbles form again, do notuse the side burner. Please contact your localdealer for assistance.GAS AND REGULATOR INSTRUCTIONS• This side burner can use either propane orbutane LPG bottled gas. If using butaneyou must change the regulator.• Propane cylinders will supply gas all yearround, even on cold winter days.• Butane cylinders will supply sufficient gasin summer. Butane gas must not be usedin colder temperatures. Contact your localgas supplier for advice.• The cylinder should be positionedunderneath the main barbecue body andstored upright.• Gas cylinders should never be stored orlaid on their side.• Before each use inspect the gas hose toensure it is free of any twisting or tension.User InstructionsKLASEN side burner is only to be usedtogether with KLASEN gas barbecue.Before assembling your side burner, removeall protective packaging from each part.Do not store a spare LP gas cylinder underor near this appliance.Place dust cap on cylinder valve outletwhenever the cylinder is not in use. Onlyinstall the type of dust cap on the cylindervalve outlet that is provided with thecylinder valve. Other types of caps or plugsmay result in leakage of propane.SIDE BURNER USER INSTRUCTIONSBefore proceeding, make certain that youunderstand the WARNING statements in thismanual.Lighting the Side burner• Open the side burner lid.• Ensure control knob is in the ‘OFF’position. |
