6121. A FTER PREHEATING the appliance as describedabove, place the ground coffee filterin the filter holder, making sure theprojection is correctly inserted inthe slot. Use the smaller filter tomake one coffee or the larg-er filter to make two coffees.HOW TO PREPARE ESPRESSO COFFEE USING THE FILTER HOLDER FORGROUND COFFEE2. TO MAKE A SINGLE COFFEE ONLY, place one levelmeasure (about 7 g) of ground cof-fee in the filter. To prepare two cof-fees, place two loosely filledmeasures (about 6+6 g)of ground coffee in the fil-ter. Fill the filter a little at a time to prevent theground coffee from overflowing.IMPORTANT: for correct operation, beforeadding the ground coffee to the filter holder,clean the filter from residues of ground coffeefrom the previous infusion.5. P LACE THE CUP or cups under the filter holderspouts.You are rec-ommended toheat the cupsbefore makingthe coffee byrinsing themwith a little hot wa-ter or placing them to warm onthe top plate for at least 15 - 20 minutes.6. M AKE SURE THE OK LIGHT IS ON(if off, wait until it comes on),then press the coffee button.When the required quantity ofcoffee has been run off, pressthe same button again. (You shouldnot run off coffee for more than 45seconds at a time).7. TO REMOVE THE FILTER HOLDER , rotate the handlefrom right to left.IMPORTANT: to avoid splashes, never removethe filter holder while the appliance is deliver-ing coffee.8. TO ELIMINATE THE USED COFFEE GROUNDS , blockthe filter in place using the lever incor-porated in the handle and emptythe coffee by turning the fil-ter holder upside down andtapping.9. TO TURN THE COFFEE MACHINE OFF,press the ON/OFF button.IMPORTANT: the first time theappliance is used, all accessoriesand the internal circuits must bewashed through by making at leastfive coffees without using ground coffee.3. D ISTRIBUTE THE GROUND COFFEE evenly and presslightly with thepresserNB: Correctpressing of theground coffeeis essen-tial toobtain agood espresso. If pressing is ex-cessive, coffee delivery will be slow and thefroth will be dark. If pressing is too light, coffeedelivery will be too rapid and the froth will beskimpy and light coloured.4. R EMOVE ANYEXCESS COFFEEfrom the rimof the fil-ter hold-er andattach the fil-ter holder to the appli-ance. Rotate firmly to avoid leaks ofwater.
