If young children are arounduse Extra low voltage lights (24 or 12Volts).Outdoors also use Extra low voltagelights unless you are going to makesure they are installed well out ofreach of everyone. If you are goingto put mains voltage lights outdoorsprotect them and everyone else byusing a plug-in RCD. These are thedevices you need when using a lawn-mower or hedge trimmer.Electric lamps are much much saferthan candles, go electric, no candleson your tree or anywhere near it. Youmay know they are just for show butsomeone else during the festivitiesmight think lighting the candles is agreat idea. Go electric.Have you got young people in thehouse?
