On the bottom of thisequipment is a label that contains,among other information, aproduct identifier in the formatUS:AAAEQ##TXXXX. If requested,this number must be provided to thetelephone company.A plug and jack used to connect thisequipment to the premises wiringand telephone network must com-ply with the applicable FCC Part68 rules and requirements adoptedby the ACTA. A compliant tele-phone cord and modular plug,RJ11 USOC, is provided with thisproduct. It is designed to beconnected to a compatible modularjack that is also compliant. Seeinstallation instructions for details.The REN is used to determine thenumber of devices that may beconnected to a telephone line.Excessive RENs on a telephone11line may result in the devices notringing in response to an incomingcall. In most but not all areas, thesum of RENs should not exceedfive (5.0). To be certain of thenumber of devices that may beconnected to a line, as determinedby the total RENs, contact thelocal telephone company. Forproducts approved after July 23,2001, the REN for this product ispart of the product identifier thathas the format US:AAAEQ##TXXXX.The digits represented by ## arethe REN without a decimal point(e.g., 03 is a REN of 0.3). Forearlier products, the REN isseparately shown on the label.If this telephone equipment, theVCO telephone, causes harm tothe telephone network, thetelephone company will notify youin advance that temporarydiscontinuance of service may berequired.
