LM5008High Voltage (100V) Step Down Switching RegulatorGeneral DescriptionThe LM5008 Step Down Switching Regulator features all ofthe functions needed to implement a low cost, efficient, Buckbias regulator. This high voltage regulator contains an 100 VN-Channel Buck Switch. The device is easy to implementand is provided in the MSOP-8 and the thermally enhancedLLP-8 packages. The regulator is based on a hystereticcontrol scheme using an ON time inversely proportional toV IN. This feature allows the operating frequency to remainrelatively constant. The hysteretic control requires no loopcompensation. An intelligent current limit is implementedwith forced OFF time, which is inversely proportional to Vout.This scheme ensures short circuit protection while providingminimum foldback.
