read first! Important Safety Precautions!1. Read Instructions. All thesafety and operating instructionsshould be read before the productis operated.2. Retain Instructions. Thesafety and operating instructionsshould be retained for futurereference.3. Heed Warnings. All warn-ings on the product and in theoperating instructions should beadhered to.4. Follow Instructions. Alloperating and use instructionsshould be followed.5. Water and Moisture. Theproduct should not be used nearwater – for example, near abathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink,laundry tub, in a wet basement,or near a swimming pool, andthe like.6. Accessories. Do not placethis product on an unstable cart,stand, tripod, bracket, or table.The product may fall,causing serious injury toa child or adult, and seri-ous damage to the product. Useonly with a cart, stand, tripod,bracket, or table recommended bythe manufacturer, or sold with theproduct. Any mounting of theproduct should follow the manu-facturer’s instructions, and shoulduse a mounting accessory recom-mended by the manufacturer.7. Wall or CeilingMounting. The product shouldbe mounted on a wall or ceilingonly when and as recommendedby the manufacturer.8. Ventilation. Slots and open-ings in the cabinet are providedfor ventilation and to ensurereliable operation of the productand to protect it from overheating,and these openings must not beblocked or covered. The openingsshould never be blocked byplacing the product on a bed,sofa, rug, or other similar surface.This product should not be placedin a built-in installation such as abookcase or rack unless properventilation is provided or themanufacturer’s instructions havebeen adhered to.9. Heat. The product should besituated away from heat sourcessuch as radiators, heat registers,stoves, or other products thatproduce heat. If placed nearan amplifier, check with themanufacturer for applicability.10. Power Sources. Thisproduct should be operated onlyfrom the type of power sourceindicated on the marking label. Ifyou are not sure of the type ofpower supply to your home, con-sult your product dealer or localpower company. For productsintended to operate from batterypower, or other sources, refer tothe operating instructions.11. Grounding orPolarization. This product maybe equipped with a polarizedalternating-current line plug(a plug having one blade widerthan the other). This plug will fitinto the power outlet only oneway. This is a safety feature. Ifyou are unable to insert the plugfully into the outlet, try reversingthe plug. If the plug should still failto fit, contact your electrician toreplace your obsolete outlet. Donot defeat the safety purpose ofthe polarized plug.12. Power-Cord Protection.Power-supply cords should berouted so that they are not likelyto be walked on or pinched byitems placed upon or againstthem, paying particular attentionto cords at plugs, conveniencereceptacles, and the point wherethey exit from the product.13. Cleaning. Unplug thisproduct from the wall outletbefore cleaning. Do not use liquidcleaners or aerosol cleaners. Usea damp cloth for cleaning.14. Nonuse Periods. Thepower cord of the product shouldbe unplugged from the outletwhen left unused for long periodsof time.15. Lightning. For added pro-tection for this product during alightning storm, or when it is leftunattended and unused for longperiods of time, unplug it from thewall outlet and disconnect theantenna or cable system. This willprevent damage to the productdue to lightning and power-linesurges.16. Overloading. Do notoverload wall outlets, extensioncords, or integral conveniencereceptacles, as this can result in arisk of fire or electric shock.17. Object and LiquidEntry. Never push objects of anykind into this product throughopenings, as they may touch dan-gerous voltage points or short-outparts that could result in a fire orelectric shock. Never spill liquid ofany kind on the product.18. Damage RequiringService. Unplug this productfrom the wall outlet and referservicing to qualified servicepersonnel under the followingconditions:a. The power-supply cord or theplug has been damaged; orb. Objects have fallen onto, orliquid has been spilled into, theproduct; orc. The product has been exposedto rain or water; ord. The product does not operatenormally when following theoperating instructions. Adjust onlythose controls that are covered bythe operating instructions, as animproper adjustment of othercontrols may result in damageand will often require extensivework by a qualified technician torestore the product to its normaloperation; ore. The product has beendropped, or the enclosuredamaged; orf. The product does not appearto operate normally or exhibits amarked change in performance.19. Attachments. Do not useattachments not recommended bythe product manufacturer, as theymay cause hazards.20. Replacement Parts.When replacement parts arerequired, be sure the service tech-nician has used replacement partsspecified by the manufacturer orthat have the same characteristicsas the original part. Unauthorizedsubstitutions may result in fire,electric shock or other hazards.21. Safety Check. Upon com-pletion of any service or repairs tothis product, ask the service tech-nician to perform safety checks todetermine that the product is inproper operating condition.22. Servicing. Do not attemptto service this product yourself, asopening or removing covers mayexpose you to dangerous voltageor other hazards.
