5∞∞ LFE Level Control – Thiscontrol only affects the signalsent to the LFE input. Adjustthe LFE level by starting withthe level controls on bothPS1400 modules in theMinimum position. With 5.1, 6.1or 7.1 source material playing, advance the LFE Level controlson both PS1400s slowly untilthe desired amount of effectschannel is present. The normalposition for this control is fullclockwise, with LFE adjust-ments being made via the leveladjustments on your processor. We have provided this controlbecause the LFE output level ofAV receivers and processorscan vary from manufacturer tomanufacturer. If you are using the third orfourth configurations, wherethe main speakers are con-figured as “Small” and all bassinformation is being sent to theLFE inputs of the PS1400s, theLFE Level control will operateon all low- frequency infor-mation, and not just for the .1channel effects.§§ LFE/Subwoofer Input – Thisjack accepts either an LFE orline-level output from thereceiver or processor.¶¶ System Input – Thesebinding posts accept a full-range, amplified (speaker-level) output from the receiveror amplifier. This input shouldbe used whenever the PS1400and PT800 modules will bestacked and the internalcrossover used to form anintegrated floorstandingspeaker system. This inputshould be used in thatconfiguration even if the LFEinput will also be used.•• Power – This is the mainpower switch, which must beturned on for the amplifier andelectronic internal crossover tofunction. If you will be awayfrom home for an extendedperiod of time, or if the PS1400will not be used, turn thisswitch off to conserveelectricity. If there is no sound:• Check that receiver/amplifier is on and a source is playing.• Check that the PS1400 is plugged in and its Power switch (8) is switched on.• Check all wires and connections between receiver/amplifier and PS1400. Make sure all wires areconnected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.• Review proper operation of your receiver/amplifier.If there is low (or no) bass output:• Make sure the connections to the left and right “Speaker Inputs” have the correct polarity (+ and –).• Make sure the PS1400 is plugged into an active electrical outlet.• Make sure the Power switch (8) is on.• In Dolby Digital or DTS modes, make sure your receiver/processor is configured so that the subwooferand LFE output are enabled.• Adjust the Polarity switch (4) if the PS1400 and PT800 are not stacked, or if they are stacked butan external crossover is being used.• Adjust the LF Level control (3).• If the LFE input is in use, adjust the LFE Level control (5).PS1400
