SYMPTOM PROBABLE CAUSE SOLUTIONNo sound coming • Amplifier not turned on • Turn on amplifier.from speaker• Amplifier gain is low • Make sure that there isamplifier gain for that channel.• Correct source not • Select proper source.selected or turned on• Defective patch cords to amplifier • Check/replace patch cords.• Speaker wires not • Check speaker wireconnected to amplifier connection to amplifier.• Balance control set improperly • Make sure Balance control is setat center, or 12 o’clock, position.• Speaker wires damaged • Make sure none of the speaker wiresor shorted are frayed, cut or punctured. Make sureno wires are touching other wires orterminals and creating a short circuit.• Speaker not configured • In Dolby® Digital or DTS® mode, makecorrectly sure that the receiver/processor isconfigured so that the speaker inquestion is enabled.• Center speaker is configured • In Dolby Pro Logic® mode, make sure theincorrectly center speaker is not in phantom mode.• Problem not diagnosed • To diagnose the likely source of theproblem, it is often helpful to switch thenonfunctioning speaker with one thatis functioning correctly. Turn off allelectronics before exchanging thespeakers. Turn everything back on, anddetermine whether the problem is inthe same place, or has moved with thespeaker. If the problem is in the sameplace, the source is most likely with yourreceiver or amplifier. If the problem hasfollowed the speaker, then contact yourauthorized JBL Synthesis custom installeror dealer for further assistance.
