Inspect the gas supply hose prior to turning onthe gas. If there is evidence of cuts, wear orabrasion, it must be replaced prior to use. Do notuse the side burner if gas odor is present.WARNINGAlways keep your face and body as far away fromthe burner as possible when lighting.LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS1. Remove any cooking utensils from the burnergrate and open the top cover or lid.2. Push and turn the control knobcounterclockwise to the “HI” setting.3. If the burner does not light, turn the controlknob to the “OFF” position.USING THE SIDE BURNER4. If the smell of gas is detected and the igniteris not functioning, immediately turn the controlknob to the “OFF” position.5. Allow 5 minutes for any accumulated gas todissipate. If the side burner igniter will notfunction, follow the match lighting instructions.MATCH LIGHTING1. Hold a lit extended match or lighter near theside burner ports.2. Turn the control knob counterclockwise to the“HI” setting.3. Rotate the control knob to the desired setting.CARE & MAINTENACE OF SIDE BURNERBURNER CLEANINGClean the exterior of the burner with a wirebrush. Clear any clogged burner ports with astraightened paper clip. Never enlarge theburner ports. Never use a wooden toothpick asit may break off and clog the port.STAINLESS STEELThere are many stainless steel cleanersavailable. Always use the mildest cleaningprocedure first, scrubbing in the direction of thegrain. Do not use steel wool as it will scratchthe surface.To touch up noticeable scratches in thestainless steel, sand very lightly with dry 100grit sand paper in the direction of the grain.
