ICE AN D WATE R15Automatic Ice MakerConnect the ice maker to the water supply asinstructed on pages 7-8. Proper water flow and alevel refrigerator are essential for optimal icemaker performance.Operating Instructions• Confirm ice bin is in place and icemaker arm IS down.• After freezer section reachesbetween 0 ° to 2° F (-18 ° to -17 ° C),ice maker fills with water andbegms operatmg. You will have a1111t1111111111complete harvest of ice approximately every threehours.• Allow approximately 24 hours after installation toreceive first harvest of ice.• Discard ice created within first 12 hoLirs of operationto assure system is flushed of in]purities.• Stop ice production by raising ice maker arm untilclick is heard.• Ice maker will remain in the off position until arm ispushed down.• The first one or two batches will probably containundersized and irregular cubes because of air in thesupply hne.• When the ice cubes are ejected it is normal forseveral cubes to be joined together at the ends. Theycan easily be broken apart. The ice maker willcontinue to make ice until the supply of ice cubesraises the ice maker arm, shutting the ice maker off.• Certain sounds may accompany the various cycles ofthe ice maker. The motor may have a shght hun], thecubes will rattle as they fall into an empty storage bmand the water valve may click or "'buzz" occasionally.• If the ice is not used freqLiently, the ice cubes willbecome cloudy, shrink, stick together and taste stale.Empty the ice storage bin periodically and wash it inlukewarm water. Be sure to dry the bin thoroughlybefore replacing it.• Beverages and foods should not be placed in theice storage bm for quick chflhng. These items canblock the ice maker arm, causing the ice maker tomalfunction.• Turn off (arm Lip) the ice maker when the watersupply m to be shut off for several hours.To Remove the Ice Bin:• Pull it forward, away from the ice maker. To avoid theice maker dun]ping ice while the bin is removed, turnthe ice maker off by raising the icemaker arm.To Install the Ice Bin:• Reverse the above procedure. Turn the ice maker onby lowering the ice maker arm.To avoid personal injury or property damage,observe the following:• Do not place fingers or hands on the automaticice making mechanism while the refrigerator isplugged in. This will help protect you from possibleinjury. It will also prevent interference with movingparts of the ejector mechanmm and the heatingelement that releases the cubes.Under certain rare circumstances, Ice cubes maybe discolored, usually appearing with a green-bluish hue. The cause of this unusual discolorationcan be a combination of factors such as certaincharacteristics of local waters, householdplumbing and the accumulation of copper salts inan inactive water supply line which feeds the icemaker. Continued consumption of such discoloredice cubes may be injurious to health. If suchdiscoloration is observed, discard the ice cubesand contact your dealer to purchase and install awater line filter.Water damage due to improper water connectionmay cause mold/mildew growth.Clean up water and ice spills to avoid personalinjury and to prevent mold/mildew growth.Water DispenserThe Water Dispenser is located on theleft side wall of the fresh food section.This design is for cold waterdispensing only.To Dispense Water:• Hold container under spout andpress dispenser pad.
