3I NSTALLATIONYour refrigerator was packed carefully for shipment.Remove and discard shelf packaging and tape. Do notremove the serial plate.LevelingTo protect property and refrigerator from damage,observe the following:• Protect vinyl or other flooring with cardboard, rugs,or other protective material.• Do not use power tools when performing levelingprocedure.CAUTIONTo enhance the appearance and maintain performance,the refrigerator should be level.Note• Complete any required door reversal, panelinstallation and/or a water supply connection,before leveling.Materials Needed• 3⁄8” hex head driver• Carpenter’s level1. Remove toe grille.• Grasp firmly and pull outwardto unclip.2. Remove bottom hinge cover(s).• Place the eraser end of a pencil or similar blunttool in the cover notch.NotchLocation• Use slight pressure to pry thecover loose.• Continue to maintaindownward pressure to thenotched side of the cover whileswinging it off.Location• Do not install refrigerator near oven, radiator or otherheat source. If not possible, shield refrigerator withcabinet material.• Do not install where temperature falls below 55° F(13° C) or rises above 110° F (43° C). Malfunctionmay occur at this temperature.• Refrigerator is designed for indoor householdapplication only.Measuring the OpeningWhen installing your refrigerator, measure carefully.Allow 1⁄2” space at top and 1⁄2” space behind themachine compartment cover (located in the rear) forproper air circulation.Subflooring or floor coverings (i.e. carpet, tile, woodfloors, rugs) may make your opening smaller thananticipated.Some clearance may be gained by using the levelingprocedure under Leveling.IMPORTANT: If refrigerator is to be installed into arecess where the top of the refrigerator is completelycovered, use dimensions from floor to top of hinge capto verify proper clearance.Transporting Your Refrigerator• NEVER transport refrigerator on its side. If anupright position is not possible, lay refrigerator on itsback. Allow refrigerator to sit upright forapproximately 30 minutes before plugging it in toassure oil returns to the compressor. Plugging therefrigerator in immediately may cause damage tointernal parts.• Use an appliance dolly when moving refrigerator.ALWAYS truck refrigerator from its side orback–NEVER from its front.• Protect outside finish of refrigerator during transportby wrapping cabinet in blankets or inserting paddingbetween the refrigerator and dolly.• Secure refrigerator to dolly firmly with straps orbungee cords. Thread straps through handles whenpossible. Do not overtighten. Overtighteningrestraints may dent or damage outside finish.
