4Hose Reel Safety Precautions WARNINGExposure of skin directly to pressurized air,or fluid could result in severe bodily injury.1. Make sure incoming line pressure does notexceed rated operating pressure for yourmodel hose reel.2. Use proper eye protection when assemblingand using the hose reel.3. Assemble the hose reel on a cleanworkbench.4. Use soap and water when checking forleaks.5. Keep children away from the work area.Installation of ReelFor overhead ceiling mounting: Install reelbetween ten and fifteen feet above the floor.You will need to purchase appropriate hardwarefor mounting your new reel (four 7/16" or M12bolts, washers and nuts or four masonry bolts,or similar depending on installation) .1. The reel base has four 1/2” (or 12.7mm)drilled holes for mounting on a suitable flatsurface.2. The reel is supplied with a hose guide rollerbracket. The bracket position may bechanged depending on the reel mountingposition. Figure 1 shows “Typical MountingPositions”. If bracket position needs to bechanged, do the following:• Pull out some hose and let reel latch.See Operation Section: “To Latch,” “ToUnlatch,” page 4.• Remove the bolts that attach the guideroller bracket to the support post.• Rotate guide roller bracket to correctposition, replace bolts and tighten.3. Using the four holes in the base, mount thereel in the desired location. Be sure to useappropriate hardware and tighten securely.4. Flush hose with air or water prior toconnecting to source. Apply Teflon tape orpipe sealant to supply line threads, attach toreel inlet and tighten. The other end ofincoming line can now be connected todesired supply source.Note: A swivel connector and flexible inlethose are required for supply line or warranty isvoid.5. Flush some product through the system andreel prior to connecting outlet nozzle to tool.Apply Teflon tape or pipe sealant to outletfitting on reel hose, and then attach todesired tool, or nozzle. Check connectionfor leakage using soapy water.6. If hose stopper adjustment is required, pullhose from reel and allow latching at desiredlength. Loosen stopper screws and slidestopper to a position close to the hose guide.Tighten stopper screws, and unlatch thereel.Fig. 1
