Change cutting oil oftenand follow manufacturer’s instructions as to its usesand precautions.1. Disconnect machine from power source.2. Pour coolant into hole through strainer cup. Filltank to approximately 80% of capacity.3. Make sure coolant hose is properly connectedat each end, and return hose is connected todrain hole and positioned in strainer cup, asshown in Figure 6-10.7.0 Electrical connectionsThe HVBS-712 and HVBS-712D Band Saw is ratedat 115/230V power, and is pre-wired for 115 volt. The band saw comes with a plug designed for useon a circuit with a grounded outlet that looks like theone pictured in A, Figure 7-1.Before connecting to power source, be sure switchis in off position. It is recommended that the band saw be connectedto a dedicated 15 amp circuit with circuit breaker orfuse. If connected to a circuit protected by fuses, usetime delay fuse marked “D”. Local codes takeprecedence over recommendations.7.1 GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONSThis machine must be grounded. In the event of amalfunction or breakdown, grounding provides apath of least resistance for electric current to reducethe risk of electric shock. This tool is equipped withan electric cord having an equipment-groundingconductor and a grounding plug. The plug must beplugged into a matching outlet that is properlyinstalled and grounded in accordance with all localcodes and ordinances.Do not modify the plug provided - if it will not fit theoutlet, have the proper outlet installed by a qualifiedelectrician.Improper connection of the equipment-groundingconductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Theconductor with insulation having an outer surfacethat is green with or without yellow stripes is theequipment-grounding conductor. If repair orreplacement of the electric cord or plug isnecessary, do not connect the equipment-groundingconductor to a live terminal.Check with a qualifiedelectrician or service personnel if the groundinginstructions are not completely understood, or ifin doubt as to whether the tool is properlygrounded. Failure to comply may cause seriousor fatal injury.Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-pronggrounding plugs and 3-pole receptacles that acceptthe tool's plug.Repair or replace damaged or worn cordimmediately. When operated at 115-volt, this tool is intended foruse on a circuit that has an outlet that looks like theone illustrated in A, Figure 7-1. An adapter, shownin B and C, may be used to connect this plug to a2-pole receptacle as shown in B if a properlygrounded outlet is not available. The temporaryadapter should be used only until a properlygrounded outlet can be installed by a qualifiedelectrician. The green-colored rigid ear, lug, and thelike, extending from the adapter must be connectedto a permanent ground such as a properly groundedoutlet box. Note: In Canada, the use of a temporaryadaptor is not permitted by the Canadian ElectricalCode, C22.1.Figure 7-1: groundingWhen operated at 230-volt, this tool is intended foruse on a circuit that has an outlet that looks like theone illustrated in D, Figure 7-1. The tool has agrounding plug that looks like the plug illustrated inD. Make sure the tool is connected to an outlethaving the same configuration as the plug. Noadapter is available or should be used with this tool.If the tool must be reconnected for use on a differenttype of electric circuit, the reconnection should bemade by qualified service personnel; and after
