Also lubricate the safety latchesand the bearings in the hooks.Allowable Limits for LoadChain and HooksLoad ChainCarefully inspect the entire load chain. Asillustrated in Figure 9, measure five consecutivelinks with calipers to find the length, Comparethe results with the table in Figure 9. Checkevery three feet and especially where excessivewear is indicated. Any load chain that showsnoticeable deformation or heat influence mustbe replaced with a new one.Never extend load chain bywelding a second piece to the original.Hooks (Top and Bottom)Replace the hook when the distance betweenindicator points – “A” in Figures 10 and 11 – iswider than the limits given in the table.Never heat treat the hook or attach anything tothe hook by welding.HoistCapacity“A” DimensionNormal(mm)“A” DimensionReplace if ≥9 ton 54.1 57Figure 11HoistCapacity5 Links Normal(mm)5 Links LimitReplace if ≥0.8 ton 79 81.31 ton 79 81.31.6 ton 100 102.92.5 ton 124 127.3.2 ton 141 145.16.3 ton 141 145.19 ton 141 145.1Figure 9HoistCapacity“A” DimensionNormal(mm)“A” DimensionReplace if ≥0.8 ton 41.8 441 ton 49.9 52.51.6 ton 52.3 552.5 ton 59.9 633.2 ton 62.7 666.3 ton 84.6 89Figure 10
