43.0 Warnings1. Read and understand the entire instructionmanual before attempting assembly oroperation.2. All JET bandsaws are designed andintended for use by properly trained andexperienced personnel only. If you are notfamiliar with the proper and safe operationof a bandsaw, do not use until propertraining and knowledge have been obtained3. Always wear approved safety glasses/faceshields while using this machine. (Everydayeyeglasses only have impact resistant lenses;they are not safety glasses.)4. Make certain the machine is properlygrounded.5. Before operating this machine, remove tie,rings, watches and other jewelry, and roll upsleeves past the elbows. Remove all looseclothing and confine long hair. Do NOT weargloves.6. Keep the floor around the machine clean andfree of scrap material, oil and grease.7. Keep machine guards in place at all timeswhen the machine is in use. If removed formaintenance purposes, use extreme cautionand replace the guards immediately aftercompletion of maintenance.8. Do NOT over reach. Maintain a balancedstance at all times so that you do not fall orlean against blades or other moving parts.9. Make all machine adjustments or maintenancewith the machine unplugged from the powersource.10. Use the right tool. Do not force a tool orattachment to do a job for which it was notdesigned. The right tool will do the job betterand more safely.11. Replace warning labels if they becomeobscured or removed.12. Make certain the switch is in the OFF positionbefore connecting the machine to the powersupply.13. Give your work undivided attention. Lookingaround, carrying on a conversation and “horse-play” are careless acts that can result inserious injury.14. Keep visitors a safe distance from the workarea.15. Use recommended accessories; improperaccessories may be hazardous.16. Form a habit of checking to see that keys andadjusting wrenches are removed from themachine before turning it on.17. Always keep hands and fingers away from theblade when the machine is running.18. Never hand-hold the material. Always use thevise and clamp it securely.19. Keep belt guard, blade guards, and wheelcovers in place and in working order.20. Always provide adequate support for long andheavy material.21. Use a sharp blade and keep machine clean forbest and safest performance.22. Failure to comply with all of these warningsmay cause serious injury.23.
