They must be securedwith plugs or a wheel cover, dependingon the model.Illustration Push the high pressure hose into thetrigger gun until it locks audibly.Note: Make sure the connection nippleis aligned correctly. Check the secure connection by pullingon the high pressure hose.According to the applicable regula-tions, the appliance must never beused on the drinking water supplywithout a system separator. Use asuitable system separator manufactured byKÄRCHER; or, as an alternative, a systemseparator as per EN 12729 Type BA. Waterflowing through a system separator is con-sidered non-drinkable.CautionAlways connect the system separator tothe water supply, never directly to the appli-ance!Note: Impurities in the water can damagethe high-pressure pump and accessories.For protection, the use of the KÄRCHERwater filter (optional accessory, order no.4.730-059) is recommended.Observe regulations of water supplier.For connection values, see type plate/tech-nical data. Use a fibre-reinforced water hose (notincluded) with a standard coupling.(Minimum diameter 1/2 inch (13 mm),minimum length 7.5 m).Illustration Screw the coupling element to the wa-ter connection on the appliance. Push the water supply hose onto thecoupling unit, then connect it to the wa-ter supply.This high-pressure cleaner is suited to workwith the KÄRCHER suction hose with back-flow valve (Optional accessory, order no.4.440-238) to draw in surface water, e.g.from water butts or ponds (see specifica-tions for max. suction height). Fill the KÄRCHER suction hose withbackflow valve with water, screw to wa-ter supply and hang into the water butt. Separate the high pressure hose fromthe high pressure connection of the ap-pliance. Switch the appliance on (I/ON) for amax. of 2 minutes and wait until the wa-ter exits the high-pressure connectionwithout bubbles. Turn off the appliance "0/OFF".CautionDry runs lasting longer than two minuteslead to damages to the high pressurepump.
