– 9CautionAlways connect the system separator tothe water supply, never directly to the appli-ance!This high-pressure cleaner is suited to workwith the KÄRCHER suction hose with back-flow valve (Optional accessory, order no.4.440-238) to draw in surface water, e.g.from water butts or ponds (see specifica-tions for max. suction height). Fill the suction hose with water. Screw the suction hose into the waterconnection of the appliance and insert itinto the water source (e.g. rainwaterdrum).CautionDry running of more than 2 minutes leads todamage of the high-pressure pump. If theappliance does not build up pressure within2 minutes, switch the appliance off and pro-ceed in accordance with the instructions inChapter "Troubleshooting".Illustration Push the high pressure hose into thequick coupling until it locks audibly. Attach the water supply hose to thecoupling on the water connection.Note: The supply hose is not included. Connect the water supply hose to thewater supply. Completely open the water tap. Insert the mains plug into the socket. Turn on the appliance “I/ON”.Illustration Unlock the lever on the trigger gun. Pull on the lever of the trigger gun; thedevice will switch on.Switch the appliance on for a (max. of 2minutes) and wait until the water exits atthe hand spray gun without bubbles. Release the lever on the trigger gun.Note: Release the lever of the triggergun; the device will switch off again.High pressure remains in the system.Illustration Lock the lever on the trigger gun. DangerThe water jet that is emitted from the high-pressure nozzle results in a repulsion pow-er acting on the hand spray gun. Make surethat you have a firm footing and are alsoholding the hand spray gun and spray lancefirmly. DangerHigh-pressure jets can be dangerous if im-properly used. The jet may not be directedat persons, animals, live electrical equip-ment or at the appliance itself.CautionRisk of damage! The appliance must onlybe operated laying down (horizontal).CautionCar tyres, paint or sensitive surfaces suchas wood should not be cleaned with the dirtblaster, as there is a risk of damage.CautionRisk of damage to the paintworkWhen working with the washing brush, itmust be free of dirt or other particles.Illustration Push the spray lance into the trigger gunand fasten it by turning it through 90°. Unlock the lever on the trigger gun. Pull on the lever of the trigger gun; thedevice will switch on.Note: Release the lever of the trigger gun;the device will switch off again. High pres-sure remains in the system.
