9 Fault Recognition and Rectification9.1 Basic instructionsError messages are classified in these categories:■ Warning:─ Warning messagesW■ Fault (with indication):─ Alarm messagesA─ System messagesY─ Diagnostic messagesD■ Other faults (without indication): See chapter 9.2The messages valid for your machine are dependent on how the individual machine is equipped.1. Do not attempt fault rectification measures other than those given in this manual!2. In all other cases:Have the fault rectified by an authorised KAESER SERVICE representative.Further information See the operating manual of SIGMA CONTROL 2 for details regarding the various messages.9.2 Other faultsFault Possible cause RemedyMachine runs but produces nocompressed air.Inlet valve not opening or onlyopening partially.Call KAESER SERVICE.Venting valve not closing. Call KAESER SERVICE.Leaks in the pressure system. Check pipework and connec‐tions for leaks and tighten anyloose connections.Compressed air demand ex‐ceeds the volumetric flow ratefrom the compressor.Check the air system for leaks.Shut down consumer(s).Hose coupling or maintenancehose still plugged into thequick-release coupling on theoil separator tank.Remove coupling or mainte‐nance hose.Cooling oil runs out of the in‐take filter.Oil level in the oil separatortank too high.Drain off oil until the correct lev‐el is reached.Inlet valve defective. Call KAESER SERVICE.Compressor switches be‐tween LOAD and IDLE morethan twice per minute.Receiver too small.
