18 DLB_A-BA-e-11108 Adjustment8.1 Adjust balanceAs the acceleration value due to gravity is not the same at every location on earth, eachbalance must be coordinated - in compliance with the underlying physical weighingprinciple - to the existing acceleration due to gravity at its place of location (only if thebalance has not already been adjusted to the location in the factory). This adjustmentprocess must be carried out for the first commissioning, after each change of locationas well as in case of fluctuating environment temperature. To receive accuratemeasuring values it is also recommended to adjust the balance periodically in weighingoperation.• Observe stable environmental conditions. A warming up time (see chapter 1) isrequired for stabilization.• Carry out adjustment with placed sample dish. Ensure that no objects are withinthe sample dish.• Weight value of the required adjustment weight see chpt. 1 “Technicalspecifications“: In weighing mode press the CAL button. Wait until the weighed value for the required adjustment weight appearsflashing.Example 100 g During the flashing display put the required adjustment weight carefully in thecentre of the sample dish. The flashing display disappears.After successful adjustment the balance automatically returns to weighing mode. Take away adjustment weightIn case of an adjustment error (e.g. objects on the weighing plate) the display willshow an error message, repeat adjustment.
