If Analysis is on you can use thetuner to tune your instrument. Atuned instrument will yield moreaccurate results by far.There are two rows that display theMono and Aux Inputs to theStringPort.MONO - outputs and displays thesignal coming through 'Instr IN'.AUX - displays the signal from 'AuxIN' on the StringPort. If you selectInst Out in the string Assignmentwindow, the signal from your mono/magnetic pickups will be sent outthe lower ¼in jack and the AuxInput will be disabled.The meter light, below the mutebutton, displays the input level ofeach string. It is important for thesignal processing applications thatthe input level does not clip. If themeter lights are red, please adjustthe trim fader to attenuate theinput level for that string.At the bottom right of the INPUTwindow you will find the INPUTMONITORS. These include: a knobto audition the combined StringInputs, a knob to audition the MonoInput, and a knob to audition theAux Input.You can monitor the signal coming in through the StringPort directly by adjusting thecorresponding gains. This signal is parallel to the rest of the StringPort applications. Usethem to set string levels and tune your instrument. Once you have set your levels andtuned up, turn the monitor level down so as not to confuse the monitor signal with theone you will process through the rest of the StringPort applications. You can still leavethe Aux and Mono Monitor level up if you wish to hear these signals.Automatic TrimYou can adjust the digitally controlled trimsliders in the StringPort with an automatictrim system that allows you to simplystrum your guitar to optimize the gain.Click on the 'automatic trim' button on thetop left corner of the Input window andfollow the instructions displayed. Youshould give each string one very strongpluck to correctly set these levels.
