16 ENClock/timer operation Timer settingThe system can switch on to CD, TUNER or TAPEmode automatically at a preset time, serving asan alarm to wake you up.The timer recording of radio programs onto a cas-sette tape is also possible.Important!Before setting the timer, ensure that the clockis set correctly.When setting the timer (playback or record-ing) for TUNER, be sure to select the stationyou wish to tune in beforehand.1 Turn the system on.2 Press timer set button (TIMER SET button onthe remote control) twice to enter timer set-ting mode.The icon “TIMER ON” will start flashing on thedisplay.3 Press program button (PROGRAM button onthe remote control).The hour indication will start flashing.4 Set the time to start playback.Press 4 or ¢ button (4 or ¢ SEARCH/TUNING button on the remote control) to settimer start hours and press program button(PROGRAM button on the remote control) tostore the setting.Repeat the same procedure to set the minutes.5 Press timer set button (TIMER SET buttonon the remote control).The icon “TIMER OFF” will start flashing.6 Repeat the step 3 and 4 to set the time tostop the timer (off time).7 Press timer set button (TIMER SET button onthe remote control).The icon “TIMER” will flash and the sourcedisplay will appear.View clockThe clock (if it is set) will be shown in standbymode.To view the clock in any source mode (CD, TUNERor TAPE), press timer set button (TIMER SETbutton on the remote control). The clock will bedisplayed.If the clock has not been set, “0:00” will start flash-ing.Clock settingBefore carrying out the clock setting, ensurethat the system is in standby mode.1 Press program button (PROGRAM button onthe remote control) to enter the hour settingmode.The hour indication will start flashing.2 Press 4 or ¢ button (4 or ¢ SEARCH/TUNING button on the remote control) to setthe hours.3 Press program button (PROGRAM button onthe remote control) to enter the minute set-ting mode.The minute indication will start flashing.4 Press 4 or ¢ button (4 or ¢ SEARCH/TUNING button on the remote control) to setthe minutes.5 Press program button (PROGRAM button onthe remote control) to store the setting.The clock will start working.To exit without storing the setting, turn on thesystem.Notes:• The clock setting will be erased when the powercord is disconnected or a power failure occurred.• The clock can be set in either 12 or 24-hour mode.To change the mode : When the system is in standbymode, press TUNER band button while pressing6 button.
