One amplifier is referred to asamplifier A and the other is amplifier B. This unit iscompatible with a large variety of systems bycombining the switches and functions describedin the following.1Fuse (25 A)2Battery terminal3Ground terminal4Power control terminal5Amplifier A/B SPEAKER OUTPUTterminals• Stereo Connections:When you wish to use the unit as a stereoamplifier, stereo connections are used.• Bridged Connections:When you wish to use the unit as a high-outputmonaural amplifier, bridged connections areused. (Make connections to the LEFT channel (+)and the RIGHT channel (–) SPEAKER OUTPUTterminals.)6INPUT SENSITIVITY controlSet this control according to the pre-output level ofthe center unit connected with this unit, or to themaximum power output of the genuine-accessorycar stereo. The sensitivities of amplifiers A and B can beadjusted independently regardless of the positionof the input selector switch.Use the diagram on the right as a guide. For the pre-output level or the maximum poweroutput, refer to the “Specifications” in theinstruction manual of the center unit.7RCA cable ground lead terminalWhen using an RCA cable with a ground leadattached, connect the ground lead to this terminal.Do not use this terminal for power sourcegrounding. This unit will be damaged if the powersource grounding wire is connected to thisterminal.8Amplifier A/B LINE IN terminals9LINE OUT terminalThese jacks output respectively the signals input toamplifiers A and B. They always output the stereosignals regardless of the position of theOPERATION switch.0Speaker level input terminals!OPERATION switchThe amplification methods of the signals input toamplifiers A and B can be selected independentlyaccording to the setting of this switch.• STEREO position:The amplifier can be used as a stereo amplifier.• MONO (Lch) position:Amplifies the signal input from the left side only.Set to this position and make bridgedconnections to use as a high-power monauralamplifier. (The input right signal is not output.)@FILTER switchThese switches allow filtering of the speakeroutput signals.• HPF (High Pass Filter) positionOnly frequencies of 150 Hz or higher are output.(Frequencies below 150 Hz are cut.)• LPF (Low Pass Filter) positionOnly frequencies of 80 Hz or lower are output.(Frequencies above 80 Hz are cut.)The Lch and Rch will be mixed before outputeven if the operation switch is set to STEREO.• OFF positionThe original sound without filtering is output.#INPUT SELECTOR switchThis switch selects the input method of the signalsto be amplified by amplifiers A and B.• A B position:Amplifies both of the signals input to amplifiers Aand B.• A position:Amplifies only signal input amplifier A with bothamplifiers A and B.Power indicatorWhen the power is turned on, the Power indicatorlights. If the Power indicator does not light when the poweris turned on, the protection function may beactivated. Check whether there is any indication oftrouble.nThe protection function is activatedin the following situations:This unit is equipped with a protection function forprotecting this unit and your speakers from variousaccidents or problems that can occur. When the protection function is triggered, thePower indicator goes off and the amplifier stopsoperating.• When a speaker wire may be short-circuited.• When a speaker output contacts ground.• When the unit malfunctions and a DC signal issent to the speaker output.• When the internal temperature is high and unitwon’t operate.• When a ground wire of the center unit (cassettereceiver, CD receiver, etc.) or this unit is notconnected to a metal part serving as an electricalground passing electricity to the battery'snegative - terminal.2CAUTIONNOTEControls25LEFTBRIDGEDSPEAKERPOWER INP.CONBATT.FUSE(25A) OUTPUT RIGHTABPOWER AMPLIFIERLPFHPFOFFB.CH FILTERA.CH FILTER B.CH OPERATION INPUT SELECTOR LINE IN LINE OUTSPEAKER LEVEL INPUTMONO (Lch)STEREOA.CH OPERATIONMONO (Lch)STEREO LPFHPFOFF0.2(MAX)(MIN)50.30.512340.2(MAX)(MIN)50.30.51234B.CH INPUT SENSITIVITY(V)A.CH INPUT SENSITIVITY(V)GNDA AB ALRA +B BABL R60.2(MAX)(MIN)50.30.51234INPUT SENSITIVITY(V)LPFHPFOFFB.CH FILTERA.CH FILTER B.CH OPERATION INPUT SELECTORMONO (Lch)STEREOA.CH OPERATIONMONO (Lch)STEREO LPFHPFOFF A ABGND1 92 3 4 75 0! #8@6(W)30402010Power indicatorTerminal coverBatteryGround wire*Battery wire*Protective Fuse*Power control wire*nPower wire connectionLCCLCC! @ #LRLRLRLRABLPFHPFOFFB.CH FILTERA.CH FILTERB.CH OPERATION INPUT SELECTORMONO (Lch)STEREOA.CH OPERATIONMONO (Lch)STEREO LPFHPFOFF A ABConnectionFor safe installation, read "Installation procedure" before starting work.NOTE25LEFTBRIDGEDSPEAKERPOWER INP.CONBATT.FUSE(25A) OUTPUT RIGHTABPOWER AMPLIFIER25LEFTBRIDGEDSPEAKERPOWER INP.CONBATT.FUSE(25A) OUTPUT RIGHTABPOWER AMPLIFIERLPFHPFOFFB.CH FILTERA.CH FILTER B.CH OPERATION INPUT SELECTOR LINE IN LINE OUTSPEAKER LEVEL INPUTMONO (Lch)STEREOA.CH OPERATIONMONO (Lch)STEREO LPFHPFOFF0.2(MAX)(MIN)50.30.512340.2(MAX)(MIN)50.30.51234B.CH INPUT SENSITIVITY(V)A.CH INPUT SENSITIVITY(V)GNDA AB ALRA +B BABL RLPFHPFOFFB.CH FILTERA.CH FILTER B.CH OPERATION INPUT SELECTOR LINE IN LINE OUTSPEAKER LEVEL INPUTMONO (Lch)STEREOA.CH OPERATIONMONO (Lch)STEREO LPFHPFOFF0.2(MAX)(MIN)50.30.512340.2(MAX)(MIN)50.30.51234B.CH INPUT SENSITIVITY(V)A.CH INPUT SENSITIVITY(V)GNDA AB ALRA +B BABL RGND GND4 4L LAALAABRBRL RR LRA RBBLARLRBLBLEFTBRIDGED RIGHTABBRIDGEDRLLEFTBRIDGED RIGHTABBRIDGEDRL85 5GNDCENTER UNIT (Cassette receiver,CD receiver, etc.)Power control wire*RCA cable*Genuine-accessorycar stereo (No lineoutput center unitetc.)ACCBatteryCar fuse boxLead terminal* Lead terminal*n4-channel n4-channeln3-channeln2-channeln2ch + woofern2-channelnRCA cable connection nSpeaker level input connectionnSpeaker stereo connection nSpeaker bridge connectionCENTERUNITCENTERUNITCENTERUNITn2-channelCENTERUNITnTri-modePrinciple of Tri-modeMethod of frequency band division using a coiland capacitor ... in case of 6dB/oct. slopeCoil (L): Passes low frequencies and blockshigh frequencies.
