Do not remove caps fromunconnected cables or connectors to prevent shortcircuits.• Connect the speaker wires to appropriate speakerconnectors separately. Sharing the negative wire ofthe speaker or grounding speaker wires to the metalbody of the car can cause this unit to fail.• After installation, check that the brake lamps, winkers, and wipers work properly.■ Speaker level input terminals ($)• The genuine-accessory car stereo shall have amaximum power output of no more than 40 W.• Do not connect the speaker output leads froma power amplifier (Optional) to the speakerlevel input terminals of this unit, for this maycause malfunction or damage.• Do not connect cables and leads to both RCAcable input jacks and the speaker level inputterminals simultaneously, for this may causemalfunction or damage.• Connect the power control lead to a powersupply which can be turned ON/OFF by theignition key switch (ACC line). With thisconnection, shock noise may be generatedwhen the power of the genuine-accessory carstereo is switched ON/OFF.■ Power terminal (234)Connect to their respective terminals the powersupply wire, and ground wire, all of which passthrough the associated terminal cover. Once theconnections are complete, place the cover onthe terminal section.■ AccessoriesInstallationSince the power amplifier has no parts which requireoperation, it can be installed at a position away fromthe driver’s seat without any hindrances. As generally accepted positions for its installation, places such as inside the trunk, etc. can beconsidered.• Do not install the unit under the carpet. Otherwiseheat build-up occurs and the unit may be damaged.• Install this unit in a location which allows heat toeasily dissipate. Once installed, do not place anyobject on top of the unit.• The surface temperature of the amplifier willbecome hot during use. Install the amplifier in aplace where people, resins, and other substancesthat are sensitive to heat will not come into contactwith it.• This unit has cooling fans to decrease the internaltemperature. Be careful not to block the cooling fanopenings when installing the unit. Blocking theseopenings will inhibit the cooling of the internaltemperature and result in malfunction.• When making a hole under a seat, inside the trunk,or somewhere else in the vehicle, check that thereis nothing hazardous on the opposite side such as agasoline tank, brake pipe, or wiring harness, and becareful not to cause scratches or other damage.• Do not install near the dashboard, rear tray, or airbag safety parts.• The installation to the vehicle should securely fastenthe unit to a place in which it will not obstructdriving.
