English Information on Disposal of Old Electricaland Electronic Equipment (applicable forEU countries that have adopted separatewaste collection systems)Products with the symbol (crossed-outwheeled bin) cannot be disposed ashousehold waste.Old electrical and electronic equipmentshould be recycled at a facility capableof handling these items and their wastebyproducts. Contact your local authorityfor details in locating a recycle facilitynearest to you. Proper recycling and wastedisposal will help conserve resources whilstpreventing detrimental effects on ourhealth and the environment. This Product is not installed by the manufacturer of avehicle on the production line, nor by the professionalimporter of a vehicle into an EU Member State.Cleaning the unitIf the front panel gets dirty, turn off the power andwipe the panel with a dry silicon cloth or soft cloth.CAUTIONDo not wipe the panel with a hard cloth or a clothdampened by volatile solvents such as paint thinnerand alcohol. They can scratch the surface of the paneland/or cause the indicator letters to peel off.To prevent battery riseWhen the unit is used in the ACC ON position withoutturning the engine ON, it depletes the battery. Use itafter starting the engine.Protection functionThe protection function is activated in the followingsituations:This unit is equipped with a protection function forprotecting this unit and your speakers from variousaccidents or problems that can occur. When the protection function is triggered, thePROTECTION indicator lights and the amplifier stopsoperating.• When a speaker wire may be short-circuited.• When a speaker output contacts ground.• When the unit malfunctions and a DC signal is sentto the speaker output.7 Wiring• Take the battery wire for this unit directly from thebattery. If it's connected to the vehicle’s wiringharness, it can cause blown fuses etc.• If a buzzing noise is heard from the speakers whenthe engine is running, connect a line noise filter(optional) to each of the battery wire.• Do not allow the wire to directly contact the edge ofthe iron plate by using Grommets.• Connect the ground wire to a metal part of the carchassis that acts as an electrical ground passingelectricity to the battery‘s negative · terminal.Do not turn the power on if the ground wire is notconnected.• Be sure to install a protective fuse in the powercord near the battery. The protective fuse shouldbe the same capacity as the unit’s fuse capacity orsomewhat larger.• For the power cord and ground, use a vehicle type(fireproof ) power wring cord with a current capacitygreater than the unit’s fuse capacity. (Use a powerwiring cord with the range of 14 mm² (AWG 6) to 21mm² (AWG 4).• When more than one power amplifier are goingto be used, use a power supply wiring wire andprotective fuse of greater current-handling capacitythan the total maximum current drawn by eachamplifier.7 Speaker Selection• The rated input power of the speakers that aregoing to be connected should be greater than themaximum output power (in Watts) of the amplifier.Use of speakers having input power ratings thatare less than the output power of the amplifier willcause smoke to be emitted as well as damage.• The impedance of the speakers that are goingto be connected should be 2Ω or greater (forstereo connections), or 4Ω or greater (for bridgedconnections). When more than one set of speakersare going to be used, calculate the combinedimpedance of the speakers and then connectsuitable speakers to the amplifier.4Ω4Ω 8Ω 2Ω2Ω4Ω4Ω4Ω4Ω4Ω4Ω4Ω4Ω4Ω8Ω4Ω4Ω 4Ω4ΩCombined impedance
