English | 11For Good ReceptionTo assure good reception, note thefollowing:• Communicate with the cell-phone withinthe line-of-sight distance of 10 m (30ft). The communication range becomesshorter depending on the surroundingenvironment. The communicationrange also becomes shorter when thereis an obstacle between this unit andthe cell-phone. The above maximumcommunication range (10 m) is notalways assured.• A broadcast station or walkie-talkielocated nearby can interfere withcommunication due to too strong signal.tape or other similar material. To preventa short circuit, do not remove the caps onthe ends of the unconnected wires or theterminals.• Connect the speaker wires correctly to theterminals to which they correspond. Theunit may be damaged or fail to work ifyou share the - wires or ground them toany metal part in the car.• When only two speakers are beingconnected to the system, connect theconnectors either to both the frontoutput terminals or to both the rearoutput terminals (do not mix front andrear). For example, if you connect the +connector of the left speaker to a frontoutput terminal, do not connect the -connector to a rear output terminal.• After the unit is installed, check whetherthe brake lamps, blinkers, wipers, etc. onthe car are working properly.• Mount the unit so that the mountingangle is 30° or less.• Reception may drop if there are metalobjects near the Bluetooth antenna.(KDC-U7046BT/ KDC-U7046BTL only)Bluetooth antenna unit¤ CAUTIONInstall this unit in the console of yourvehicle.Do not touch the metal part of this unitduring and shortly after the use of theunit.
