English | 3Installation Procedure1. To prevent short circuits, remove the key from theignition and disconnect the - terminal of thebattery.2. Make the proper input and output wireconnections for each unit.3. Connect the wire on the wiring harness.4. Take Connector B on the wiring harness andconnect it to the speaker connector in your vehicle.5. Take Connector A on the wiring harness andconnect it to the external power connector on yourvehicle.6. Connect the wiring harness connector to the unit.7. Install the unit in your car.8. Reconnect the - terminal of the battery.9. Press the reset button.2WARNING• If you connect the ignition wire (red) and the battery wire(yellow) to the car chassis (ground), you may cause a shortcircuit, that in turn may start a fire. Always connect thosewires to the power source running through the fuse box.• Do not cut out the fuse from the ignition wire (red) and thebattery wire (yellow). The power supply must be connectedto the wires via the fuse.¤• If the power is not turned ON (or it is ON, but will be OFFimmediately), the speaker wire may have a short-circuitor touched the chassis of the vehicle and the protectionfunction may have been activated. Therefore, the speakerwire should be checked.• If your car is not prepared for this special connection-system, consult your Kenwood dealer.• Only use antenna conversion adapters (ISO-JASO) when theantenna cord has an ISO plug.• Make sure that all wire connections are securely made byinserting jacks until they lock completely.• If your vehicle’s ignition does not have an ACC position, orif the ignition wire is connected to a power source withconstant voltage such as a battery wire, the power will notbe linked with the ignition (i.e., it will not turn on and offalong with the ignition). If you want to link the unit’s powerwith the ignition, connect the ignition wire to a powersource that can be turned on and off with the ignition key.• If the fuse blows, first make sure that the wires have notcaused a short circuit, then replace the old fuse with onewith the same rating.• Insulate unconnected wires with vinyl tape or other similarmaterial. To prevent short circuits, also do not removethe caps on the ends of the unconnected wires or theterminals.• Connect the speaker wires correctly to the terminals towhich they correspond. The unit may receive damage or failto work if you share the - wires and/or ground them toany metal part in the car.• After the unit is installed, check whether the brake lamps, indicators, wipers, etc. on the car are working properly.• If the console has a lid, make sure to install the unit sothat the faceplate does not hit the lid when closing andopening.• Mount the unit so that the mounting angle is 30° or less.
