6I NSTALLING / R EMOVING THE BATTERY PACKThe battery pack is not charged at the factory; charge itbefore use (pages 5 and 6).Average battery pack life (calculated using 5% transmit time,5% receive time, and 90% standby time) is 17 hours.◆ Do not short the battery terminals.◆ Do not dispose of the battery by fire.◆ Never attempt to remove the casing from the battery pack.123Align the battery pack with theback of the transceiver, thenpress the battery pack andtransceiver firmly together untilthe release latch on the base ofthe transceiver locks.To remove the battery pack, liftthe safety catch on the base ofthe transceiver, then press therelease latch underneath thesafety catch.While pressing the releaselatch, pull the battery packaway from the transceiver.
