2 Operation and Features56 Keysight E364xA User’s and Service GuideOverviewThe following section provides an overview of the front panel keys beforeoperating your power supply.– The power supply is shipped from the factory configured in the front paneloperation mode. At power-on, the power supply is automatically set to operatein the front panel operation mode. When in this mode, the front panel keys canbe used.– When the power supply is in the remote operation mode, you can return to thefront panel operation mode at any time by pressing the (Local) key if youdid not previously send the front panel lockout command. A change betweenthe front panel and remote operation modes will not result in a change in theoutput– When you press (the Limit annunciator flashes), the display of the powersupply goes to the limit mode and the present limit values will be displayed. Inthis mode, you can also observe the change of the limit values when adjustingthe knob. If you press again or let the display time--out after severalseconds, the power supply will return the display to the meter mode (the Limitannunciator turns off). In this mode, the actual output voltage and current willbe displayed.– The output of the power supply can be enabled or disabled from the frontpanel by pressing . When the output is off, the OFF annunciator turns onand the output is disabled.– The display provides the present operating status of the power supply withannunciators and also informs you of error codes. For example, the powersupply is operating in the CV mode in the 8 V/3 A range and controlled fromthe front panel, then the CV and 8V annunciators will turn on. If, however, thepower supply is remotely controlled, the Rmt annunciator will also turn on, andwhen the power supply is being addressed over the GPIB interface, the Adrsannunciator will turn on. Refer to “Display annunciators” on page 46 for moreinformation.– The display provides the present operating status of the power supply withannunciators and also informs you of error codes.
