38 Keysight N5280A User’s and Service GuideN5280AOperational Check-Operational Check Procedure (Option 002)The N5280A operational check can be verified using two Sources with a PowerMeter and Power Sensor.Requirements for Operational CheckThe N5280A operational check measures the signal paths from the LO INPUTto the LO OUTPUT (LO AUX) and each of the four internal mixers, using apower divider. Internally, the LO signal is mixed with RF input signals suppliedthrough each of the RF INPUTS (A, B, C, and D) and measured at each of the IFOUTPUTS (A, B, C, and D). The following process demonstrates that allassociated switches, connectors, cables and circuitry are operational.Required HardwareTo demonstrate that the N5280A is operating properly requires externalequipment - the same equipment that would be used to perform a fieldcalibration of the N5280A in a system. This external equipment includes twoprecision signal generators and a power meter with a power sensor and powersensor cable. The module interconnect cables are not used when performingthis operational check; instead, two high-quality flexible 3.5 mm cables areneeded along with adapters. Please refer to the following table for recommended equipment.Table 14 Keysight Recommended EquipmentEquipment DescriptionE8257D-532 or E8267D-532 or equivalentPSG #1 and PSG #2 Precision Signal Generator (250 kHz to 31.8 GHz)N1913A or N1914A or equivalent Single/Dual Channel Power MeterN8485A Option 100 or equivalent 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz Power Sensor11730A or equivalent Power Sensor Cable
