However, this will not be detailed here as sound-design aspects are beyond the scopeof this manual. This study can rely on the simulations modeled in SOUNDVISION software, yielding electro-acousticpredictions which take into account the enclosures’ manufacturer data and particular situational usage, as well as theprojected environment.Several operation modes are for building all the common configurations (L/R, L/C/R, distributed), and each mode isassociated with a set of factory presets. Other non-conforming configurations do not correspond to any preset. The L-ACOUSTICS ® SB28 subwoofer enclosure is intended to extend the low frequency response of a mainsystem in the ‘‘STANDARD’’ and ‘‘CARDIOÏD’’ operation modes. The LA8 output channel assignment varies upon the preset selected by the user. Always check thateach SB28 enclosure is connected to the correct output channel before operating.Note: The latest version of the preset library is either supplied by an L-ACOUSTICS ® authorized representative and isalso downloadable on the L-ACOUSTICS® internet website @ www.l-acoustics.com.7.2 “STANDARD” modeIn ‘‘STANDARD’’ mode the SB28 enclosures extend the low frequency response of the system in use down to 25Hz.Each SB28 enclosure generates an omni-directional coverage pattern.7.2.1 Connecting the SB28 to the LA8Each of the SB28 enclosures is connected to an LA8 output channel ranging from channel 1 through 4. Therefore asingle LA8 amplified controller can drive up to four SB28 enclosures (Figure 5).Any additional SB28 enclosure beyond 4 needs to be connected to an additional LA8 amplified controller following thesame wiring procedures.Note: System resources are optimized for a multiple of four SB28 enclosures.Figure 5: Four SB28 subwoofers connected to an LA8 amplified controllerIN AIN BOUT 1 (IN A) OUT 2 (IN A) OUT 3 (IN B) OUT 4 (IN B)!IMPORTANT
