Oval 80 v.2 and Sentinel v.2 Radiant Tube Heaterswww.lbwhite.comOwner’s Manual • Oval 80 v.2 and Sentinel v.230Gas HoseFlexible connector used to convey gas from supplyline in building to heater.IgniterIgnition device used on automatic direct spark igni-tion control systems. Ignites gas by spark.MotorElectric device used to force air through burner boxto create pressure used in the ignition of the heater.ReflectorPolished aluminum canopy supported over theburner tubes. Used to gather and reflect the radiantheat provided by the burner tubes back down toground level.RegulatorMechanical device used in L.P. and natural gasdistribution systems to reduce a higher inlet pres-sure to a preset lower pressure. The regulator isresponsible to supply a steady outlet pressure tothe heater(s) despite changes in inlet pressure, heater demand and weather conditions.ThermostatA component which responds to a change intemperature . This component is available forsingle stage or two stage heating. The two stagethermostat incorporates two independent controlcircuits which interconnect to the heater’s two stagegas control valve, thereby providing low or highheat depending on thermostat setpoint.TransformerElectrical control used to accept line power supplyprimary voltage and reduce it to lower secondaryvoltage to operate certain control systems.BurnerCast iron component used to channel gas andprovide an area at which the fuel may ignite.Burner Orifi ceBrass metering device used to feed gas toburner at a specific rate.Burner TubesConducts the heat provided by the ignition offuel gas at the burner.Differential Air Pressure SwitchSafety device used to insure that proper positiveand vacuum pressures are within the burner boxbefore the gas valve is opened.Direct Spark Ignition Control ModuleElectronic printed circuit board which sendsand receives voltages to various controls in anautomatic ignition system. An important safetyfeature of the control board is that it will shutdown the entire heater, thereby stopping theflow of fuel gas if burner flame goes out.Fan HousingChamber used for delivering air for efficient airmovement.Fan WheelComponent used in conjunction with the motorand fan housing. It is used to create pressureswithin thed burner box used in the distribution ofburner flame down the burner tubes.Gas Control ValveElectrical device consisting of a low pressureregulator and electrical solenoids used for thecontrol of gas flow to the burner assembly. Thecontrol is available as single stage or two stage.A feature of the two stage control valve is it’sability to modulate from a first stage (minimum)heat position to a second stage (maximum) heatposition, if needed, to satisfy the temperaturerequirements of the building. This results in lesstemperature variation and potentially lower fuelconsumption.Heater Component Function
