In orderto comply with applicable safety,emission and thermal requirementsno covers should be removed andall bays must be fitted with plug-inmodules.Permanently unplug the unit if you thinkthat it has become damaged in any wayand before you move it.CAUTION: A fully assembled LaCie12big Rack Network enclosure can weighup to 30kg (66lb), 22kg (48.4lb) withoutdrives installed. Do not try to lift it by your-self.Do not lift the enclosure by the handleson the power supplies, as they are not de-signed to support that weight.CAUTION: The removal of the enclosuretop cover or the power supply mountingcage must only be performed by a serviceperson. Ensure that the socket outletsare located near the equipment andare easily accessible.✦ This equipment is intended to oper-ate with two working Power SupplyUnits (PSUs) housed in a Power Sup-ply Mounting Cage. Before remov-al/replacement of a PSU disconnectall supply power for complete isola-tion.✦ A faulty PSU must be replaced witha fully operational PSU within 24hours. Dummy drive carriermodules must be fitted to unused drivebays.CAUTION: The RJ45 sockets on theMotherboard/PCI cards are for Ethernetconnection only and must not be con-nected to a telecommunications network.CAUTION: Boot drives are fragile andmust be handled with care during remov-al/replacement.Safety Guidelines
