Disconnecting Your LaCie Hard DriveUSB and FireWire external devices feature “plug &play” connectivity, which means that your drive can beconnected and disconnected while the computer is run-ning. To prevent failures, however, it is important tofollow these steps when disconnecting your LaCie harddrive.Windows UsersFrom the System Tray (located in the lowerright-hand side of your screen), click the Ejecticon (a small green arrow over a hardware im-age).A message will appear, listing the devices theEject icon controls (it should say, “Safely re-move...”). Click on the LaCie hard drive in thisprompt.This message will appear: “Safe to RemoveHardware” (or similar). It is now safe to discon-nect the device.1.2.3.Mac UsersDrag the hard drive icon to the trash.When the icon disappears from the desktop,the drive can be disconnected.1.2.2.5.
