8 C Series C 20:8X, C 10:8X, C 10:4X and C 5:4X Operation ManualThe 35 Hz high-pass filter rolls off low frequencies(6 dB/octave) for greater efficiency and reliabilityin, for example, 70/100 V high impedance systemswhere the removal of very low frequency contentmay be desired.4.2.6 NomadLink / Ethernet control andmonitoring networkThe NomadLink network allows easy setup andcontrol of C Series power amplifiers. The patentednetwork topology allows automatic detection andaddressing of multiple amplifiers. Control is via a PCrunning DeviceControl software, which is connectedto the NLB 60E NomadLink Bridge & Network Control-ler using standard TCP/IP communication. Phantompowering through the standard Cat-5 network cablesallows the software to detect devices that are notcurrently turned on or connected to the mains. Thisensures very high reliability and redundancy levelswhile allowing connected amplifiers to remain onstandby with no power consumption.Cat-5 cable connections can be daisy-chained foreasy system setup. There is no need to create a startopology using many switches as with, for example,an Ethernet system. Individual amplifier addresses donot need to be manually entered: you will automati-cally know where an individual amplifier resides inthe network. This reduces total component costs, simplifies installation, and makes daily operation moreconvenient.A daisy chain network loop, in combination withthe automatic addressing of devices, enablesLab.gruppen’s proprietary DeviceControl software toautomatically create a precise picture of all connecteddevices and their relative position in the chain. Byquickly creating a clear overview of the entire systemconfiguration, DeviceControl provides flexible controlover very large amplifier systems. Setup time isminimized, and critical information is readily availablefor monitoring performance and avoiding problemsduring operation.Via NomadLink, you can monitor all metering dataas well as all faults and warning indications simulta-neously. NomadLink allows you to remotely power onand power off individual amplifiers or user-definablegroups of amplifiers, as well as engage Mute andSolo functions on individual channels.4 WELCOME
