16_LAMONA Appliances06 - InstallationGeneral informationInstallation should only be carried out by a qualifiedinstaller or engineer.Please keep to the following points most carefully;Although every care has been taken to ensurethis appliance has no burrs, or sharp edges, werecommend that you wear protective gloves wheninstalling and moving this appliance. This willprevent injury.The minimum distances to other appliances andunits are to be observed.Wall surfaces above the work surface and in theimmediate vicinity of the cooking hob must be heatresistant.Laminated surfaces and the adhesive used forfixing them must be heat resistant in order to avoidany damage.The space for air circulation, located underneathand at the back of the hob improves its reliability byensuring that it will cool down, efficiently.Installations should be carried out in line with theNational Regulations applicable with this producttype.Note: Avoid installing the appliance next to doorsand under windows. This will avoid the potentialfor hot cookware being knocked off the hob whendoors and windows are opened (Risk of burns).Built-in appliances may only be used after they havebeen built-into suitable built-in units and surfacesthat meet the required standards.PositioningChoosing your installation• Make sure that the air inlets through theventilator grids underneath the hob are neverblocked.Installing the hob over a unit with a drawer ordoor• The Hob’s air outlet is underneath worksurface. If necessary, remove the frontcrosspiece of the unit to allow suitableventilation.• We recommend that you install this appliancein a work top which is a minimum 38mm deep.• The hob can be fitted into a work top less than38mm deep, but the 20mm gap between hobbase and appliance or cabinet partition mustbe maintained.Installation above an oven• Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions forclearances above the oven. We recommend aminimum 20mm gap between the bottom ofthe hob and appliance30mm HobWorktopScrewWorktop20mmoven or partitionHob5mmIn the case of a Pyrolytic oven• If installing the hob above a pyrolytic oven,additional provision for air circulation /ventilation may be required. Due to theexcessive temperatures attained duringpyrolysis, using the hob at the same time maycause the thermal safety device within the hobto operate.Installation
