Important Safety Information11/8/182Listed below are common practices that may or may not be applicable to the productsdescribed in this manual.Practice Safe Maintenance Understand procedure before doingwork. Refer to the Operator’sManual for additional information. Work on a level surface in a cleandry area that is well-lit. Lower implement to the ground andfollow all shutdown proceduresbefore leaving the operator’s seat toperform maintenance. Do not work under any hydraulicsupported equipment. It can settle, suddenly leak down, or be loweredaccidentally. If it is necessary towork under the equipment, securelysupport it with stands or suitableblocking beforehand. Use properly grounded electricaloutlets and tools. Use correct tools and equipment forthe job that are in good condition. Allow equipment to cool beforeworking on it. Disconnect battery ground cable (-)before servicing or adjustingelectrical systems or before weldingon implement. Inspect all parts. Make certainparts are in good condition &installed properly. Replace parts on this implementwith genuine Land Pride parts only.Do not alter this implement in a waywhich will adversely affect itsperformance. Do not grease or oil implementwhile it is in operation. Remove buildup of grease, oil, ordebris. Always make sure any material andwaste products from the repair andmaintenance of the implement areproperly collected and disposed. Remove all tools and unused partsbefore operation. Do not weld or torch on galvanizedmetal as it will release toxic fumes.Use A Safety Chain A safety chain will help controldrawn machinery should itseparate from the tractor drawbar. Use a chain with the strengthrating equal to or greater than thegross weight of the towedimplement. Attach the chain to the tractordrawbar support or other specifiedanchor location. Allow onlyenough slack in the chain topermit turning. Always hitch the implement to themachine towing it. Do not use thesafety chain tow the implement.Transport Safely Comply with federal, state, andlocal laws. Use towing vehicle and trailer ofadequate size and capacity. Secureequipment towed on a trailer withtie downs and chains. Sudden braking can cause a towedtrailer to swerve and upset. Reducespeed if towed trailer is notequipped with brakes. Avoid contact with any overheadutility lines or electrically chargedconductors. Always drive with load on end ofloader arms low to the ground. Always drive straight up and downsteep inclines with heavy end of atractor with loader attachment onthe “uphill” side. Engage park brake when stoppedon an incline. Maximum transport speed for anattached equipment is 20 mph. DONOT EXCEED. Never travel at aspeed which does not allowadequate control of steering andstopping. Some rough terrainsrequire a slower speed. As a guideline, use the followingmaximum speed weight ratios forattached equipment:20 mph when weight of attachedequipment is less than or equalto the weight of machine towingthe equipment.10 mph when weight of attachedequipment exceeds weight ofmachine towing equipment butnot more than double the weight. IMPORTANT: Do not tow a loadthat is more than double the weightof the vehicle towing the load.Tire Safety Tire changing can be dangerousand must be performed bytrained personnel using thecorrect tools and equipment. Always maintain correct tirepressure. Do not inflate tiresabove recommended pressuresshown in the Operator’s Manual. When inflating tires, use a clip-onchuck and extension hose longenough to allow you to stand toone side and NOT in front of orover the tire assembly. Use asafety cage if available. Securely support the implementwhen changing a wheel. When removing and installingwheels, use wheel handlingequipment adequate for theweight involved. Make sure wheel bolts have beentightened to the specified torque.
