Riders canobstruct the operator’s view, interfere with control of theequipment, be pinched by moving components, becomeentangled in rotating components, be struck by objects, bethrown or fall from the equipment, etc.• Allow only persons to operate this implement who havefully read and comprehended this manual, who have beenproperly trained in the safe operation of this implement, andwho are age 16 or older. Serious injury or death can resultfrom the inability to read, understand, and followinstructions provided in this manual.• Do not use a power take-off adapter. The adapter willincrease strain on the tractor’s power take-off shaft causingpossible damage to shaft and driveline. It will also defeatthe purpose of the tractor’s power take-off shield.• Do not use implement to lift objects; to pull objects such asfence posts, stumps, etc; or to push objects. The unit is notdesigned or guarded for these uses.• Do not till across steep inclines that are subject to rollover.The action of the tines being forced down into the groundcan cause the tractor to roll-over resulting in serious injuryor death. Consult your tractor’s manual for acceptableinclines the tractor is capable of traveling across.• Do not use implement to tow other equipment unless it isdesigned with a tow hitch. Doing so can result in loss ofcontrol and damage the equipment.• Always shut tractor down using “Tractor ShutdownProcedure” provided in this manual before dismountingtractor.• Make certain driveline yokes are securely fastened at eachend. A loose yoke can work free allowing the driveline torotate uncontrollably causing implement damage andbodily injury or death to anyone nearby.• Perform scheduled maintenance. Check for loosehardware, missing parts, broken parts, structural cracks,and excessive wear. Make repairs before putting implementback into service. Serious breakdowns can result in injuryor death.• A rotating driveline must not exceed an angle of 25 degreesup or down, and never engage a driveline while at an angleexceeding 25 degrees up or down. The driveline can breakand send projectiles.CAUTION!To avoid minor or moderate injury: Some tractors areequipped with two power take-off speeds. Do not exceed 540rpm power take-off speed or equipment breakage may result.IMPORTANT: Make sure all safety labels are in theirproper location and in good condition beforeoperation. Follow all directions on the safety labels.IMPORTANT: To prevent park stand from beingdamaged, always store stand in the transportposition before moving tractor with tiller attached.TransportingWARNING!To avoid serious injury or death:• When traveling on roadways, travel in such a way thatother vehicles may pass you safely. Use LED lights, cleanreflectors, and a slow moving vehicle sign that is visiblefrom the back to warn operators in other vehicles of yourpresence. Always comply with all federal, state, and locallaws.• Always disengage power take-off and wait for driveline tostop rotating before raising implement to transport position.• Do not alter implement or replace parts on the implementwith other brands. Other brands may not fit properly ormeet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)specifications. They can weaken the integrity and impair thesafety, function, performance, and life of the implement.Replace parts only with genuine OEM parts.• Do not use implement for a purpose other than the work itis designed to do as defined in this manual.1. When raising the tiller to the transport position, besure that driveline does not contact tractor or tiller.Adjust the tractor’s 3-point hitch lift height so that thetiller tines are not lifted more than 14 inches off theground to prevent damage to the driveline.2. Remove wire retaining pin from park stand and raisepark stand up to the bottom hole. Reinsert wireretaining pin. Make certain wire retainer is caughtover end of pin.3. Be sure to reduce tractor ground speed whenturning; and, leave enough clearance so the tillerdoes not contact obstacles such as buildings, trees,or fences.4. Select a safe ground travel speed when transportingfrom one area to another. When traveling onroadways, transport in such a way that faster movingvehicles may pass you safely.5. When traveling over rough or hilly terrain, shift tractorto a lower gear.Unhook Rotary TillerThe following steps should be taken when preparing tostore the tiller or unhitch it from the tractor.1. Park tiller on a level, solid area.2. Shut off tractor engine and engage park brake.3. Set park stand to desired height for re-hook-up andinstall pin to lock stand in place.4. Unhitch tiller from tractor.WARNING!To avoid serious injury or death:An unsupported parked tiller can tip over. Always use parkstand and/or support blocks to prevent it from tipping overonto a person. |
