Section 1: Assembly & Set-UpSGC1060 & SGC1072 Grapples 380-092M5/18/21 11Table of ContentsHook-up to Kubota B Series HitchDANGER!To avoid serious injury or death:A crushing hazard exists while hooking-up and unhooking theimplement. Keep people and animals away while backing-upto the implement or pulling away from the implement. Do notoperate hydraulic controls while a person or animal is directlybehind the power machine or near the implement.WARNING!To avoid serious injury or death:Check Kubota B tractor hook-up points frequently. Make sureattachment’s top hitch pins are fully seated in the loader hitchhooks. Lower hitch pins must be fully inserted and securedwith wire retaining pins. An improperly attached unit can fall. This Claw Grapple is designed for tractors with Kubota BSeries front mounted loaders.Refer to Figure 1-3:1. Check for and remove any debris in the hitch pointareas before hooking-up to grapple.2. Remove wire retaining pins from loader hitch pinsand pull hitch pins from loader.3. Rotate top of loader hitch forward and lower loaderarms down until upper hitch hooks are in-alignmentwith the grapple’s upper hitch pins.4. Drive tractor slowly forward to the grapple until upperhitch pins on grapple are caught by the front mountedloader upper hitch hooks.5. Slowly raise loader arms up while rotating top ofquick hitch back until the front mounted loader upperhooks are fully seated in the grapple’s upper hitchpins and lower saddle plates are seated against thegrapple’s lower hitch pin spacers.6. Raise grapple off the ground and insert lower hitchpins. Secure hitch pins with wire retaining pins. Makesure wire retainers are caught over end of pins.NOTE: Lower wire retaining pins and hitch pins aresupplied with Kubota B Series Loader.Unhook From Kubota B Series HitchRefer to Figure 1-3:WARNING!To avoid serious injury or death:Store attachment with hydraulic cylinders fully retracted, upper claw fully open, and upper and lower teeth pointingdown resting on the ground. The attachment can tip-over ifstored in the upright position.1. See “Long-Term Storage” on page 17 if parkinggrapple for long periods and end of season.2. Park tractor on a flat, level, solid surface.3. Fully open upper claw, rotate front mounted loader tiltarms forward, and lower loader lift arms until bothupper and lower grapple teeth are resting on theground as shown in Figure 1-3.4. Place transmission in park, set park brake, shuttractor off, and remove switch key.5. With grapple upper and lower teeth resting on theground, release all hydraulic system pressures byoperating hydraulic control levers back and forth.6. Disconnect hydraulic hoses from tractor and storehoses on grapple.7. Remove wire retaining pins from the loader hitch pinsand pull lower hitch pins from front mounted loader.8. Rotate bottom of loader hitch up until loader saddleplates are clear of grapple’s lower hitch pin spacers.9. Slowly back tractor away from grapple until top ofKubota’s B Series hitch has separated from grapple’supper hitch pins.10. Continue to carefully back away from grapple untilclear of grapple.11. Rotate B Series hitch vertical and raise loader armsup to a suitable traveling height.12. Reinsert lower hitch pins and secure in place withwire retaining pins.Hook-up to Grapple With Kubota B Series HitchFigure 1-335667Upper Hitch PinsLower Hitch Pin HolesLower Hitch Pin Spacers2121
