15B. After attaching both mounting plates, position the Switch in the rack by lining up theholes in the plates with the appropriate holes on the rack. Secure the Switch to therack with a screwdriver and the rack-mounting screws.Mount the Switch in an EIA standard 19-inch RackNote: For proper ventilation, allows about at least 4 inches (10 cm) of clearance on thefront and 3.4 inches (8 cm) on the back of the Switch. This is especially important forenclosed rack installation.3.3 Cabling Use four twisted-pair, Category 5e or above cabling for RJ-45 port connection. Thecable between the switch and the link partner (switch, hub, workstation, etc.) mustbe less than 100 meters (328 ft.) long. Fiber segment using single-mode connector can be applied to standard (such as9/125 μm, 9.5/125 μm, or 10/125 μm) single-mode fiber cable. User can connect twodevices in the distance up to 30km. Fiber segment using multi-mode connector can be applied to standard (such as 50or 62.5/125 μm) multi-mode fiber cable. User can connect two devices up to 2kmdistances.
