Cleaning Cautions• Check the air filter, Nebulizer, mouthpiece,and any other optional components beforeeach use.Dirty or worn parts should be replaced.• Do not immerse the unit in water. It willdamage the unit.• Disconnect the unit from the electricaloutlet before cleaning.• Clean all necessary parts after each useas instructed in this guidebook.Cleaning ProceduresPlease consult with your physician ortherapist prior to cleaning regarding theuse of commercial disinfectants andappropriate cleaning methods.Rinsing Technique(Performed after each treatment):1) Make sure that the POWER switch hasbeen turned to the “off” position and theunit has been disconnected from thepower source.2) Disconnect the air tube fromthe base of the Nebulizer.3) Gently twist and pull up on thecover of the Nebulizer to openand separate, Fig. 1.4) Rinse the Nebulizer and com-ponents with hot tap water.5) Dry with clean towels or allowto completely air dry.6) Reassemble the Nebulizer and store theparts in the Compressorʼs storage case.Cleaning Technique(Performed after the last treatment of the dayor before first time use):1) Follow steps 1-4 under “RinsingTechnique”.2) Wash all Nebulizer parts, mouthpiece andother optional components in warm waterand a mild detergent. Rinse in hot tapwater.Note: For first time cleaning or after the unithas been stored for an extended period oftime, thoroughly clean all components.3) Prepare a vinegar/distilled water solutionof one part white vinegar to three partsdistilled water.4) Submerge the rinsed parts in the vine-gar/distilled water solution for 30 minutes.5) Follow steps 4-6 under “RinsingTechnique”.Cleaning the CompressorUnplug the unit from the power sourceWipe the compressor daily using a soft,slightly water-moistened cloth.Note: Any other form of cleaning or cleaningagents may damage the finish on the unit.Changing the Air FilterIt is important to change the air filterapproximately every 30 days or when the airfilter turns gray.1) Lift up the air filter coverby gently pulling forward,Fig. 2.2) Discard the gray air filter.3) Replace with a new,clean air filter.4) Securely reattach the airfilter cover to the unit bypressing down firmly.Note: Air filters cannot be cleaned orwashed. Only Digger Dog airfilters can be used. Do not substitutealternate material such as cotton.
