-20-2.6 Safety devicesDangerThese devices are required for themachine's safe operation and maynot be removed or renderedinoperative.The machine is equipped with the following safetydevices:- Saw guard- Large base plate- Handles- Index mechanism and brake- Hose connector2.7 Use according to intended purposeThe plunge cut saw is exclusively suitable forlongitudinal and cross cutting of solid wood.Panel materials such as chip board, core board andMDF board can also be processed. Only use the sawblades approved by Mafell according to EN 847-1 inthe specified ø range.In conjunction with the diamond saw blade you canalso cut fibre cement board.Any other use than described above is notpermissible. The manufacturer cannot be held liablefor any damage arising from such other use.In order to use the machine as intended, comply withthe operating, maintenance, and repair instructionsspecified by Mafell.2.8 Residual risksDangerEven if used in accordance with itsintended purpose and despiteconforming with the safetyinstructions, residual risks causedby the intended use will alwaysremain.- Touching the part of the saw blade that protrudesbelow the workpiece when cutting.- Touching of turning parts from the side: saw blade,clamping flange and flange screw.- Machine backlash if the blade gets stuck in theworkpiece.- Breakage of the saw blade and risk of the blade orpieces of the blade being hurled away.- Touching live parts with the housing open and themains plug not removed.- Hearing can be impaired when working for longperiods without ear protectors.- Emission of harmful wood dusts during longeroperation without extraction.3 Safety instructionsDangerAlways observe the following safetyinstructions and the safetyregulations applicable in therespective country of use!General instructions:- Children and adolescents must not operate thismachine. This rule does not apply to youngpersons receiving training and being supervised byan expert.- Never work without the protection devicesprescribed for the respective operating sequenceand do not make any changes to the machine thatcould impair safety.- When operating the machine outdoors, use of anearth-leakage circuit-breaker is recommended.- Damaged cables or plugs must be immediatelyreplaced.- Avoid sharp bends in the cable. Especially whentransporting and storing the machine, do not windthe cable around the machine.
