Eddy-Current Brakes provideincreasing torque as the speed increases, reaching peak torqueat rated speed. The dynamometers have low inertia as a resultof small rotor diameter. Brake cooling is provided by a watercirculation system, which passes insidethe stator to dissipate heat generated bythe braking power. The water cooling inthe WB provides high continuous powerratings (max. 140 kW).Powder Brake Dynamometers (PBseries) are ideal for applications operatingin the low to middle speed range orwhen operating in the middle to hightorque range. Powder Brakes providefull torque at zero speed and are water-cooled, allowing for power ratings up to 48 kW.
