7Power tool use and care16. Do not force the power tool. Use the correctpower tool for your application. The correct powertool will do the job better and safer at the rate forwhich it was designed.17. Do not use the power tool if the switch does notturn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot becontrolled with the switch is dangerous and must berepaired.18. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool beforemaking any adjustments, changing accessories,or storing power tools. Such preventive safetymeasures reduce the risk of starting the power toolaccidentally.19. Store idle power tools out of the reach of chil-dren and do not allow persons unfamiliar withthe power tool or these instructions to operatethe power tool. Power tools are dangerous in thehands of untrained users.20. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment orbinding of moving parts, breakage of parts andany other condition that may affect the powertools operation. If damaged, have the power toolrepaired before use. Many accidents are caused bypoorly maintained power tools.21. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properlymaintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edgesare less likely to bind and are easier to control.22. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bitsetc. in accordance with these instructions and inthe manner intended for the particular type ofpower tool, taking into account the working con-ditions and the work to be performed. Use of thepower tool for operations different from thoseintended could result in a hazardous situation.Service23. Have your power tool serviced by a qualifiedrepair person using only identical replacementparts. This will ensure that the safety of the powertool is maintained.24. Follow instruction for lubricating and changingaccessories.25. Use clamps or another practical way to secureand support the workpiece to a stable platform.Holding the work by hand or against your bodyleaves it unstable and may lead to loss of con-trol.3. Wear hearing protection during extended periodof operation.4. Handle the bits very carefully.5. Check the bit carefully for cracks or damagebefore operation.Replace cracked or damaged bit immediately.6. Avoid cutting nails. Inspect for and remove allnails from the workpiece before operation.7. Hold the tool firmly.8. Keep hands away from rotating parts.9. Make sure the bit is not contacting the work-piece before the switch is turned on.10. Before using the tool on an actual workpiece, letit run for a while.Watch for vibration or wobbling that could indi-cate improperly installed bit.11. Be careful of the bit rotating direction and thefeed direction.12. Do not leave the tool running. Operate the toolonly when hand-held.13. Always switch off and wait for the bit to come toa complete stop before removing the tool fromworkpiece.14. Do not touch the bit immediately after operation;it may be extremely hot and could burn yourskin.15. Do not smear the tool base carelessly with thin-ner, gasoline, oil or the like.They may cause cracks in the tool base.16. Draw attention to the need to use cutters of thecorrect shank diameter and which are suitablefor the speed of the tool.17. Some material contains chemicals which may betoxic. Take caution to prevent dust inhalationand skin contact. Follow material supplier safetydata.18. Always use the correct dust mask/respirator forthe material and application you are workingwith.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.WARNING:MISUSE or failure to follow the safety rules stated inthis instruction manual may cause serious personalinjury.OPERATING INSTRUCTIONSInstalling or removing router bit (Fig. 1)Important:Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before installing or removing the bit.Insert the bit all the way into the collet cone andtighten the collet nut securely with the two wrenches.A 6 mm or 1/4” collet cone is also provided as stan-dard equipment besides the 8 mm or 3/8” collet conethat is factory installed on the tool. Use the correctsize collet cone for the bit which you intend to use.To remove the bit, follow the installation procedure inreverse.CAUTION:Do not tighten the collet nut without inserting a bit, orthe collet cone will break. |
