3GENERAL SAFETY RULES GEA001-2WARNING:Read all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed belowmay result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term“power tool” in all of the warnings listed below refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) powertool.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONSWork area safety1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Clutteredand dark areas invite accidents.2. Do not operate power tools in explosiveatmospheres, such as in the presence offlammable liquids, gases or dust. Powertools create sparks which may ignite the dustor fumes.3. Keep children and bystanders away whileoperating a power tool. Distractions cancause you to lose control.Electrical safety4. Power tool plugs must match the outlet.Never modify the plug in any way. Do notuse any adapter plugs with earthed(grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugsand matching outlets will reduce risk of elec-tric shock.5. Avoid body contact with earthed orgrounded surfaces such as pipes, radia-tors, ranges and refrigerators. There is anincreased risk of electric shock if your body isearthed or grounded.6. Do not expose power tools to rain or wetconditions. Water entering a power tool willincrease the risk of electric shock.7. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cordfor carrying, pulling or unplugging thepower tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil,sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged orentangled cords increase the risk of electricshock.8. When operating a power tool outdoors,use an extension cord suitable for out-door use. Use of a cord suitable for outdooruse reduces the risk of electric shock.Personal safety9. Stay alert, watch what you are doing anduse common sense when operating apower tool. Do not use a power tool whileyou are tired or under the influence ofdrugs, alcohol or medication. A moment ofinattention while operating power tools mayresult in serious personal injury.10. Use safety equipment. Always wear eyeprotection. Safety equipment such as dustmask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, orhearing protection used for appropriate con-ditions will reduce personal injuries.11. Avoid accidental starting. Ensure theswitch is in the off-position before plug-ging in. Carrying power tools with your fingeron the switch or plugging in power tools thathave the switch on invites accidents.
