414. Remove any adjusting key or wrench beforeturning the power tool on. A wrench or a key leftattached to a rotating part of the power tool mayresult in personal injury.15. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing andbalance at all times. This enables better controlof the power tool in unexpected situations.16. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing orjewellery. Keep your hair, clothing, and glovesaway from moving parts. Loose clothes,jewellery or long hair can be caught in movingparts.17. If devices are provided for the connection ofdust extraction and collection facilities,ensure these are connected and properlyused. Use of dust collection can reducedust-related hazards.Power tool use and care18. Do not force the power tool. Use the correctpower tool for your application. The correctpower tool will do the job better and safer at therate for which it was designed.19. Do not use the power tool if the switch doesnot turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannotbe controlled with the switch is dangerous andmust be repaired.20. Properlymaintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edgesare less likely to bind and are easier to control.24. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bitsetc. in accordance with these instructions,taking into account the working conditionsand the work to be performed. Use of the powertool for operations different from those intendedcould result in a hazardous situation.Service25. Have your power tool serviced by a qualifiedrepair person using only identical replacementparts. This will ensure that the safety of the powertool is maintained.26. The guard provided with the tool must besecurely attached to the power tool andpositioned for maximum safety, so the leastamount of wheel is exposed towards theoperator. Position yourself and bystandersaway from the plane of the rotating wheel. Theguard helps to protect operator from broken wheelfragments and accidental contact with wheel.2. Use only diamond cut-off wheels for yourpower tool. Just because an accessory can beattached to your power tool, it does not assuresafe operation.3. The rated speed of the accessory must be atleast equal to the maximum speed marked onthe power tool. Accessories running faster thantheir rated speed can break and fly apart.4. Wheels must be used only for recommendedapplications. For example: do not grind with theside of cut-off wheel. Abrasive cut-off wheels areintended for peripheral grinding, side forces appliedto these wheels may cause them to shatter.5. Always use undamaged wheel flanges that areof correct diameter for your selected wheel.Proper wheel flanges support the wheel thusreducing the possibility of wheel breakage.6. The outside diameter and the thickness ofyour accessory must be within the capacityrating of your power tool. Incorrectly sizedaccessories cannot be adequately guarded orcontrolled.7. The arbour size of wheels and flanges mustproperly fit the spindle of the power tool.Wheels and flanges with arbour holes that do notmatch the mounting hardware of the power toolwill run out of balance, vibrate excessively andmay cause loss of control.8. Do not use damaged wheels. Before each use,inspect the wheels for chips and cracks. Ifpower tool or wheel is dropped, inspect fordamage or install an undamaged wheel. Afterinspecting and installing the wheel, positionyourself and bystanders away from the planeof the rotating wheel and run the power tool atmaximum no load speed for one minute.Damaged wheels will normally break apart duringthis test time. |
