7For straight cuts, align the A position on the front of thebase with your cutting line. For 45° bevel cuts, align the Bposition with it.Switch actionCAUTION:• Before plugging in the tool, always check to seethat the switch trigger actuates properly and returnsto the “OFF” position when released.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Releasethe switch trigger to stop.ASSEMBLYCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before carrying out any work on the tool.Removing or installing saw bladeCAUTION:• Be sure the blade is installed with teeth pointing upat the front of the tool.• Use only the Makita wrench to install or remove theblade.To remove the blade, press the shaft lock so that theblade cannot revolve and use the wrench to loosen thehex bolt clockwise. Then remove the hex bolt, outerflange and blade.To install the blade, follow the removal procedure inreverse. BE SURE TO TIGHTEN THE HEX BOLTCOUNTERCLOCKWISE SECURELY.When changing blade, make sure to also clean upperand lower blade guards of accumulated sawdust. Suchefforts do not, however, replace the need to check lowerguard operation before each use.CAUTION:• One side of the inner flange is for 5/8” hole diameterof the blade and the other side is for 13/16” holediameter. Use the correct side for the hole diameterof the blade you intend to use. Mounting the bladeon the wrong side can result in dangerous vibration.OPERATIONCAUTION:• Be sure to move the tool forward in a straight linegently. Forcing or twisting the tool will result inoverheating the motor and dangerous kickback,possibly causing severe injury.Hold the tool firmly. The tool is provided with both a frontgrip and rear handle. Use both to best grasp the tool. Ifboth hands are holding saw, they cannot be cut by theblade.
