Follow material supplier safetydata.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.WARNING:MISUSE or failure to follow the safety rules stated inthis instruction manual may cause serious personalinjury.OPERATING INSTRUCTIONSInstalling or removing drill bit (Fig. 1)Important:Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before installing or removing the bit.To install the bit, place it in the chuck as far as it will go.Tighten the chuck by hand. Place the chuck key in eachof the three holes and tighten clockwise. Be sure totighten all three chuck holes evenly. To remove the bit,turn the chuck key counterclockwise in just one hole,then loosen the chuck by hand.After using the chuck key, be sure to return it to the origi-nal position.Adjusting depth of drilling (Fig. 2)For tools with depth gaugeInstall the depth gauge on the tool with the wing bolt andwasher. Adjust the depth gauge to the desired depth andtighten the wing bolt.Switch action (Fig. 3)CAUTION:Before plugging in the tool, always check to see theswitch trigger actuates properly and returns to the “OFF”position when released.To start the tool, simply pull the trigger. Release the trig-ger to stop. For continuous operation, pull the trigger andthen push in the lock button. To stop the tool from thelocked position, pull the trigger fully, then release it.Drilling operation• Drilling in woodWhen drilling in wood, the best results are obtainedwith wood drills equipped with a guide screw. Theguide screw makes drilling easier by pulling the bit intothe workpiece.• Drilling in metalTo prevent the bit from slipping when starting a hole,make an indentation with a center-punch and hammerat the point to be drilled. Place the point of the bit in theindentation and start drilling. Use a cutting lubricantwhen drilling metals. The exceptions are iron and brasswhich should be drilled dry. |
